Amy began working for BlueDog in 2009 as a dog walker and became a certified dog trainer through Mount Ida College’s Dog Training program in 2011. But her experience with dogs began far earlier than that from growing up in a family of dog lovers and at a very young age she began getting involved with dogs by volunteering at the MSPCA.
Her passion and talent were quickly apparent once she began walking dogs for BlueDog, which led to her pursuing a career in dog training. Since receiving her certificate Amy has helped countless dogs become happy, well mannered members of their family, teaching both private in-home lessons as well as group classes at BlueDog Academy.
She also is one of BlueDog’s regular house sitters and during the weekdays when she’s not meeting for private lessons, she runs Play Groups, assists with walks, and helps to lead BlueDog’s team of dog walkers. She is also a proud member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
And you’ll rarely see Amy without her two sidekicks Jal, a rescued Chihuahua mix, and Shai a rescued Border Collie mix!
